About Us:
Tru began its life as ‘Huntley Holistic Therapies’, in a cute little room in Slater Street, Liverpool City Centre, where I worked with Private clients and also with referred clients from a charity called ‘The Spider Project’ who provide services for relapse prevention to people suffering various addictions.
Eventually moving to 85-89 Duke Street (now Liverpool Media Accadamy), a lovely old Yorkshire stone building where I practiced for five years. During this time I had met Ruth, first as a client (who was always 'pulling something' during her Badminton matches) but she had soon became attracted to the idea of getting involved with the business; eventually becoming my business partner (oh and also a very good friend!).
Later we changed the business name to a-k i and while under this name we both studied the art of making natural skin care, spa, hair care and Anti Aging products, we would hope to one of the many who put unscrupulous cosmetic companies under pressure by informing our customers and hopefully helping them make more informed choices when buying their personal care and other products.
An opportunity came for me to move to a room in Rodney Street; Again I was blessed with a lovely room in a lovely building. After two great years Ruth and I decided to take on two new rooms in Rodney Street, where both the Holistic Therapies and natural skin care Product making could run side by side; we became a Limited Company! And yet another name change – T from Tina (me) and RU from Ruth makes Tru and thus was born Tru Organics and Natural Health Care UK Ltd, bit of a mouthful we know but you can call us Tru.
As a Therapist I wanted to provide the very best for my clients, most of who were regulars - I usually have to 'repair' them after work or sport injuries, a bit like Ruth, or when they seek guidance on issues and personal development - I wanted to provide creams and lotions as mediums for the Essential Oils but also to include the therapeutic values of Herbs, Butters and Active ingredients etc. This way I could treat any skin and muscular or joint problems more effectively.
We are small and low tech still using pots and pans to make our gorgeous products, but there is so much we would love to achieve; so many things we would like to see in the future but each big dream starts with a small step towards it.
For us, Tru is not just a business, it is a part of our life; our passion; our desire to do ‘our bit’, and to work in a job and create a business that ‘feels right.’ We wish to create a working environment where everyone has a sense of ‘ownership’ and feels the desire to work at their best and produce the best with pride and to feel safe, happy and important in their place of work. We aim to become a successful example of how a company can be ethical and ‘human’ and care about its' product, its' customers, its' staff and its' planet alike. Perhaps there is a new way to do business, and we would like to be part of that revolution.
